Speculative Fiction
SF is umbrella term that covers anything from fantasy and horror to science fiction. Also included are alternate history and magical realism. Term was supposedly coined by the late Robert A. Heinlein. Lately the term has gained popularity with the Next Wave(term coined by critic/writer Gabriel Chouinard) bringing us writers like Jeff VanderMeer and China Mieville. A similar term that has lately been used a lot is new weird.
